*RMS Annual Fund Donation
Help us rustle up our goal of 50,000 this year!
School is almost here and we are kicking off our Annual Fund Campaign for the 2018-2019 school year. The RMS Annual Fund Campaign is a joint effort between Riverwood Middle School and the Humble ISD Education Foundation to raise funds to help Riverwood improve its amenities, add student activities and increase student achievement by focusing on across the board improvements in the following areas: Safety, Technology, Enrichment and Professional Development. The Annual Fund allows the administration of RMS to make student-centered investments that would typically fall outside the district's normal operating budget for the year, continuing to keep Riverwood a true "step ahead" competitively

Beginning next week, construction will begin to provide extra security to the front of our campus. During that time, the front entrance of our campus will be closed. Volunteers and students will only be allowed to enter through the side doors by the parking lot. Students will still be allowed to be dropped off at the front, but will have to walk around to the side entrance.
Gift Cards for Harvey Families
Last year, with the help of Grapevine High School, we had a gift card drive to help our RMS staff and families that were affected by Harvey. We still have a few of those gift cards left. If you are new to RMS and were affected by Harvey, please contact Mr. Bodron or your student's counselor. This is just for the families who did not benefit from the gift card drive last year. All information will be confidential.
workroom Volunteers NeedED!
The RMS workroom is one of the easiest ways you can volunteer at RMS and help the teachers, which in turn, helps our kiddos! Please consider signing up for one or multiple shifts so that we can help the teachers start the new school year out right. If you are new to the workroom, you will soon learn how incredibly appreciative the teachers are of the work we do! The times are 9-11 and 1-3, but anytime you are available to help will be greatly appreciated.

Volunteers Must Be Trained!
Volunteers must be trained before using the copy machines. Our smaller machine is similar to what the elementary schools have, but our large machine requires additional training. If you need training, please contact Penny Smith at 281-883-2710 to arrange an orientation.
LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
The RMS LIBRARY is in need of volunteers. Please consider signing up for a few hours a month. Our primary responsibilities will be to maintain a monthly bulletin board and host a fall and spring book fair.
“Ongoing research shows that students with involved parents or other caregivers earn higher grades and test scores, have better social skills, and show improved behavior.”
PTA General Meetings
Our next general PTA Meeting will be held in the RMS library on January 9 at 10:30. General membership meeting dates can always be found under the "Our PTA" tab.
